What moderate water does to hair
The comfortable middle. Most routines work unchanged; a clarifying wash now and then keeps shine.
The washing routine for Tokyo
Keep your normal rhythm and add a detox (chelating) wash about every eighth wash to lift the light mineral film before it dulls shine. Everything else in your routine can travel unchanged.
Climate, from recent records (Open-Meteo, ERA5 2015-2024): August is the warmest month, averaging 31°C by day, and humidity peaks in July at about 81% on average. In the hot months, sun and sweat do as much damage as the water: shade, a hat and a rinse after swimming carry the routine. In the humid months, frizz is the main event; anti-humidity styling matters more than wash frequency.
Plugs and power for your tools
Sockets: Type A and B. Supply: 100 V, 50 Hz in Tokyo (60 Hz in the west).
Japan runs at 100 V: a 230 V only dryer will barely warm up here, and one bought here will burn out on 230 V back home. Check the label for dual voltage (100-240 V) before you plug in.
Plug, voltage and frequency: IEC World Plugs and national standards.
